The monastery was established in 1976 with the blessing of the late Archbishop Stylianos, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church (1975 – 2019). The monastery follows the liturgical program of traditional Athonite (Greece) monasticism. The word, Pantanassa is from the Greek panta ‘all’ and anassa ‘queen’, hence the ‘Queen of All’.
