Product Description

SAINT ALEXIOS, THE MAN OF GOD, IN ROME 6902 St. Alexis fled home to escape an arranged marriage and so lived as a beggar for many years, absorbed in prayer and asking for alms. One day his own father, moved by Christian charity, gave him a tiny closet-sized room in which he lived the rest of his life in ascesis and solitude. When he died in 411 AD, a voice was heard in the Church of the Holy Apostles, telling the Emperor and Patriarch to “Look for the Man of God” at his parents’ house, where they smelt myrrh flowing from his dead body.

Feast Day: 17th March
