The original of this icon was painted at the Iconography studio of Pantanassa Monastery. Saint Paisios of Mount Athos (+1994) is one of the greatest and most revered elders of the Orthodox Church in the 20th Century. He lived the monastic life in obscurity on the Mt Athos, but became a beacon of true life in Christ to faithful throughout the world. This biography, written by his close spiritual disciple Elder Isaac, is universally recognised as the most authoritative account of his life. The reader will encounter the full spectrum of his spiritual personality – his way of life, virtues, miracles, spiritual gifts and instruction– and be numbered among the millions who continue to be touched and inspired by the experience and wisdom of this God-hearing Holy Father. He was canonised a saint on January 13, 2015.
