SAINTS SOPHIA AND DAUGHTERS, FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE, FULL BODY 9390 In Rome in the time of the Emperor Hadrian (from 117-138 AD), there lived a virtuous Christian widow named Sophia (Wisdom), with her three daughters: Pistis (Faith) 12, Elpis (Hope), and Agape (Love). When her children were twelve, ten, and nine respectively, they all publicly stood against the idols and martyred for their faith and love for Christ. St. Sophia took her daughters’ bodies and buried them, and after three days of mourning she finally joined them in the Heavenly Kingdom.
