SAINT JOACHIM, RIGHTEOUS ANCESTOR OF GOD 9084 St. Joachim was of the tribe of Judah, a descendant of King David. He lived a devout and very charitable life as St. Anna’s husband for 50 years, but they remained childless until God blessed them with the Most Holy Virgin Mary. They raised the child until she was three, then they brought her to the Temple in Jerusalem. St. Joachim didn’t see the Lord in this life, only living 12 years after the Virgin Mary was born, and then died full of years when he was 80.
